The Kahkewistahaw First Nation is seeking a highly enthusiastic committed individual to fill the position of Youth Coordinator Assistant. The successful individual will work under the immediate supervision of the Youth Coordinator with overall accountability to the Kahkewistahaw Chief and Council.

The duties and the responsibilities of the successful candidate include and may not be limited to the following:

  • Receive telephone calls at the Youth Coordinator’s office.
  • Record messages.
  • Make posters for upcoming activities.
  • Typing documents and reports for Youth Coordinator.
  • Assist in the planning of activities when required.
  • May be required to supervise youth.

The successful Candidate shall possess the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum Grade Ten:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess the ability to work with little or no supervision.
  • Must possess excellent organization skills
  • Must have the ability to effectively work with the public, Chief and Council, fellow employees and most importantly the general membership.
  • Should have experience in general office procedures.
  • Must possess working knowledge of various computer software including: Spreadsheets; graphs; word processing; e-mail and internet.
  • Must be punctual, dependable.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.
  • Must submit a current Criminal Record Check and Illicit Drug test by a certified Physician.
